Maya’s room was very messy.
Toys on the floor.
Blocks in her bed.
A sock on the lamp!
“Oh my,” said Mama. “Time to clean up!”
Maya looked around.
“Okay,” she said. “But I’m not cleaning alone!”
She picked up Teddy Bear.
“Come on, Teddy. Let’s pick up the blocks!”
Teddy didn’t talk,
but Maya made his voice say, “Let’s stack them high!”
They stacked the blocks back into the bin.
Clink, clonk, plunk!
Then she grabbed Dolly.
“Dolly, let’s fold the clothes!”
Dolly’s little hands didn’t move,
but Maya giggled and said,
“I love folding tiny shirts!”
She even got her toy car to help.
“Vroom, vroom! Let’s push the puzzle pieces home!”
The puzzle pieces went click! into the box.
Soon the floor was clean.
The books were on the shelf.
The socks were in the drawer (not on the lamp!).
Maya flopped on her bed.
“Toys,” she whispered, “you’re the best cleaning team ever.”
She pulled up her blanket, yawned a big yawn,
and all the toys snuggled close for a well-earned nap.
The end.
